Lauren Winek has been a member of the gym for almost three years. You can typically find her in our early morning classes at least three times a week. Her inspiration and motivation for working out are simple: 
"I want to live a long and healthy life and working out is a big part of that.  I also like feeling strong and in shape." 
How did you discover The Combine [CSC] CrossFit? And how long have you been a
member? 

I had been doing CrossFit at other gyms for about a year, but when I started my new job in the Dripping Springs area I joined The Combine.  I dropped in to try out a class at the recommendation of my coworker and have been a member ever since.  I joined The Combine around October of 2014...almost 3 years!
 
What has CrossFit at the Combine done for your personally? Physically?

The Combine has helped me feel more confident in my athletic abilities and I have met some really great and encouraging people.
 
Who/what inspires/motivates you or why do you workout?
I want to live a long and healthy life and working out is a big part of that.  I also like feeling strong and in shape.

What is one of your favorite moments you've had in CrossFit?

I was really proud of myself for competing in the CrossFit Open this year.  My first experience competing in the Open was so terrible I never thought I would try it again.  I had a great experience this year without a single breakdown!  The members and the coaches are super supportive and motivating. 
 
What fitness accomplishment are you most proud of? Have you hit any recent PR's or achieved any other goal(s) in our outside of CrossFit?  Any future goals?
I am most proud of finally getting rope climbs, but I'm still too nervous to go all the way to the top.  One day I will get there!  I would really like to get double unders and be able to chain my unassisted pull-ups.  

What are your favorite CrossFit workouts or exercises/movements? 
I really enjoy body weight movements like air squats sit ups and push ups.


When you are not working out, how do you spend your free time?

I love to travel and hangout with friends.  This year I have an upcoming trip planned to Germany for Oktoberfest with a few friends.
